Fleetwood was once the premier deep water fishing port in the UK. It's commercial boats regularly fished as far afield as Iceland. Then the cod wars of the 1970's brought in a whole new situation marking the decline of the port as a commercial entity. Inshore trawling also followed suit. Much of the footage used in this film is archive material shot in the 1980s aboard the trawler Biddy whose skipper Ben Bee was drowned shortly afterwards when Biddy's replacement boat Scorpio was sadly lost in Morecambe Bay.
